This Big Block chevy truck had a little incident this pass weekend at Evadale Raceway. First it broke a rod which came out of the oil pan, then a nitrous backfire took out the entire front cap. It also blew the intake into pieces, knocked the master cylinder off the firewall, shattered the winsheild and caught on fire.

One guy in the stands got a minor cut from falling peices of hood. Other than that no one else got hurt. I was back in the staging lanes when this happened and you could feel the explosion in your chest, other around me said they felt the ground shake from the explosion.

See, this is why nitrous is the work of the devil. All of you with nitrous kits should remove them for safety reasons.

I'm not positive on the exact size of the nitrous kit. I've heard on a previous occasion they sprayed a 500hp kit on it. Truck has been 9.20s in the 1/4. Not sure of the cubic inch of the big block, someone said it was a 540.
They were supposed to run a match race against a procharged ford pick up (here is the post on the procharged Ford https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=300757 ). He was on a test hit when the nitrous backfire occured so the match race didn't happen. Once the truck is fixed i'm sure the race will happen because the owners always talk smack to each other.

Nice! From the sounds of it the Chevy will prevail!
