I always liked it when a teacher would come in class, throw the books down, give us our papers to grade, while he/she spoke about their weekend......its always reassuring for students to know a teacher does more than just teach.....

JSmith, how long has she been teaching biology? this is my 4th year as a teacher, but 2nd year just teaching biology. tell you what, i worked my *** off day and night, still found time though to work on my truck, especially when we get spring break and stuff. that is the time to go bass fishing, play golf, and work on the truck. last year i made time for myself, but was still was doing alot a school work at home and right b4 class would begin. this year is like night and day. as soon as 3pm hits, i'm out the door. i get all my grading and planning done at school. we are on block scheduling and i have long planning periods where i can get my **** done. when i got done early, i would hop on the internet and check out LS1 tech forum, but last week i was filtered out of the website. i guess they caught on to me. forums i guess are not allowed to be accessed by anyone in the school district. funny i was doing this for months and then all of a sudden. i can;t even check my other email accounts accept for the school one. rob, weather still looking nice for this weekend. sorry about work man. i was at UNO's tonight with a bunch of teachers and one of them went off the road into a ditch due to the snowy roads. her boyfriend who is a teacher with us too was at UNO's got a call from the bar. he took his ZR2 and a tow strap with him. she was right down the road. i offered to bring my 5.3 but i guess he didn't want to see his 4.3 get shown up. good thing, i have bald tires.

This year seems better than last year though in relation to the amount of work she brings home but I still feel bad for her. She only has a one hour prep period during the day. Not only that, like most teachers, she doesn't have the luxury of leaving work at work. She was pretty happy last weekend though. Some of her students are in science olympiad, sort of a science competition, and they all earned medals for thier projects.

If she's not on a strict agenda, I know I've seen PLENTY of teachers back in the day who gave in-class assignment for each class for the entire day, and they did their grading etc. during the time. but I know every school has different policies, deadlines, agenda's etc.......so I could just be talking out of my ***.
Eitherway, I can't imagine having literally over 100+ papers to grade...... <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />
