i bought this new fuel pump off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...=p4506.c0.m245 and now if i have under 1/8 tank and i try to accelerate it shuts off at 3000rpm everytime? but when i put over 1/4 tank in it it will accelerate up to 6300rpm no problem? anyone ever heard of this? having to have a certain amount of fuel in the tank? and look at their description "MADE IN THE USA * QUALITY YOU CAN TRUST!! * WARRANTY"

 

from that pic, looks like just a factory module with maybe a cheapo pump in it?

i cant see buying another module unless yours was trashed... just get a better pump and put it in that module..

also, do you remember if the springs inside that module were working properly? there should be two long springs inside that module, in the bottom, that push the module to the bottom of the tank, and the pickup for the pump is at the bottom of that module.

if the springs were no good, the pump pickup could be riding higher than it should be, and wouldnt pick up gas until a certain level.
