I wish you luck, but I think its an uphill battle until you prove to them that it's worth it. I know it was really tough trying to get money from venders for my college's FSAE team (Formula Society of Automotive Engineers).

Be professional about it. Prepare a formal proposal and submit it to as many people as you would like. Try to tailor it to each individual you send it to (which can be done with a few line changes here and there). Send it, follow up, and best of luck to you. Its not an easy task making people give up hard earned $ without proving it to be worth their time & money to invest in you

Like Todd, said, you need to make a proposal highlighting the key benefits that the sponsors would receive by sponsoring you. I don't think a college with an enrollment of 38,000 is a good investment for the sponsors because college students usually have limited disposable income. Sponsors may be able to reach a lot of people through your website, but if they don't have the money to make purhases, they essentially don't mean anything to the sponsor.

However, you can flip the scenario and say that college students may not have money while in college. BUT, after completing their education and getting a job, they could have the income to make purchases. 38,000 is a large number and I'm not sure what you are limiting to in terms of cars, trucks, domestic, import, old, or new. These are all things that need to be addressed. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Thanks man, Yeah the cars is all of the above....Actually 76% of the students are in the top 15% of income in the nation so.... I mean i definently like the idea of writing the profeesional statments but I think with a group membership projected of around 150-200 people, thats a pretty good amount plus advertising.... Ill se what I can do, thanks alot for the info though...
