Default Need a new battery!

What is a good battery to use in our trucks? I live in Central Florida, so it does get hot, humid, and it does freeze some during the winter? Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance guys.

Definately not. Those things are WAY to expensive. I'm thinking about going with the DieHard Gold from Sears. I'm still in college, and my dad said if I bought it from there and put it on our charge account he'd pay for it. So I'm thinking that one is a winner.

I just dropped in a die hard platinum over the winter. No one issue here.

I second the "not a red top" I have had nothing but bad luck with them. They don't take a charge very well and after you drain them they never seem to recover properly. Although I did have one survive falling out of the bed of a truck @ 40mph.

I am running a walmart special everstart since my 5 yr old delco died. Seems to do fine with my 11:1

i have a yellow top but i say go with a duralast or a gel cell like a kinetic

duralast being a autozone battery, but i work at advance and out of all batteries they get turned in the least as bad.

I'd never heard any bad on the Optima of any color. I thought they were just expensive bulletproof batteries that the stereo geeks loved?

BTW, what "group series" are our batteries?

75 group series. I went ahead today and bought the Die Hard Gold at sears. I wanted the platinum but 119$ was enough to spend for one day on a battery. I'm going to put it in after class this evening. Once on Sunday and Monday I turned the key and all I got was "click click", I turned it off and turned it over again and it fired up a little slugish but it cranked. It has been a little slow to crank on cold mornings the past few months and now that it's getting hot I think the 5 year old AC Delco has had it.
