I bought the Painless 4-hi kit when I first bought the truck, before I was a member here and before I had access to the electrical schematics. It was expensive and contained a relay, which all seems like overkill now that we all know that all that needs to be done is to ground one wire on each side.

I'd like to do the fog mod myself, but don't want to spend $26 for another harness kit. The fog light button is momentary, so the BCM gets a quick signal to turn the fogs on. I'll bet that there's some way to bypass the BCM and jump a wire and relay from the headlight switch to the fogs, but I'll also bet that there's something even easier than that lol.
Thats what im talkin bout Bud ! Something easy and " free" ! LOL

i don't quite remember... id have to pull my driver headlight off to check...
i think it uses 2 relays, the fogs are always on with lows..
no way to turn fogs off when the lows or highs are on...

I made my own, used two relays, just popped of the fuse box cover and found the correct wires. One relay is triggered to the fogs, and cuts the DRL's on with the fogs. Then one relay is triggered by the Brights, and hooked to the fogs, which in turn triggers the DRL relay also. This way you have dims and you can cut your fogs on and off, and DRL's always run with fogs, and when you trigger the brights, it cuts them all on also. And the free dim ground is done. SO...when brights are activated, Dims, Brights, Fogs, and DRL's all cut on
Before HID's

After HID's
