The SS has the smaller 5x8 case in 18" length. Thats why its needed the small 4" resonators before the muffler.
Me on the other hand, I'm building my own. I'm installing an X pipe where the exhaust pipes come together. I bought two of the 5x8 oval 14" long 3" mufflers to use as resonators. Those will feed a single 5x11 22" oval dual 3" in / single 4" out muffler (like moregrips). No cats. Its should be fairly quiet normally. Then I can drop off the large muffler and tailpipe, and have a dumped true dual with X for track days.

Naked, Are you just going to swap the muffler? Big Tex your set up should sound good. I went from the stock SS muffler to the Magnaflow. The stock was much quieter, but the drone just drove me nuts. With the Magnaflow there is little or no highway noise, but you know it is there when you get on it.

My tubing got banged up a bit when the drive shaft broke, so I'll likely do the whole exhaust from the 3" flange connector on back. I also don't like how they did my tips last time, so this is a good opportunity to do them as well.

If you can use the bigger case I would with a resonater,It should sound quiet except when you get on it. With my headers and the Magnaflow mine wakes the neighbors in the morning, it sounds just plain angry.
