Default My wish for GM

Alright, its obvious GM is ahead in technology as far as fuel savings and its obvious the LS motor is a technical marval. So why no real performance truck yet?

Dodge has 2 trucks I would consider performance trucks, the SRT10 of course which is capable of 11's with few mods, and the RCSB Hemi which takes few mods to get into 13's.

Ford is now producing a Saleen truck and may soon follow with some sort of Lightning. They also offer there 5.4L in a rcsb which could make for a quick truck.

Toyota IMO hit the nail on the head with the new Tundra. I bet the rcsb will run 13's off the show room floor and get good 60' times thanks to its gearing and 6 speed.

Nissan has the Tittan which offers the 5.6L in there rcsb and they are some fast trucks. Our SSS is rated with more power but it takes less mods to get a QC tittan to low 14's than it does to get a SSS to run low 14's. Why is that?

My wish for GM would be a production 1500 rcsb with a LS2 and factory mp122 blower. With the DOD it could easily make 600 crank hp and get 23mpg. GM should let the buyer worry about insurance.

a solid 2wd rcsb with a 6.0 v-max and a 6 speed auto would be fine by me. I would love to see a factory blown truck from GM, but I just do not see it happening. I know they have the means and technology, but they've had that forever and what do we have now? I do agree though, the market is big enough, especially now, to support a truck like the one you're talking about. I would pay for a factory engineered high performance truck like a Joe Gibbs truck or a Regency RST truck. I think the market would support the risk on GM's part.

They should, but they won't

I would settle for a 6L80E in all the 1500 series trucks. I don't know how much power it can take but, it's gotta be better than a 60/65/70E. We already know how to make the power, it would just be nice to have a good transmission to start with.

I think a great Factory performance setup would be a L92 6.2L/6L80E/RCSB truck with options for 2wd or AWD. This could be a very reliable setup for them if they were worried about warranty issues. They have ALL the parts available but, I doubt we'll ever see anything like it.

I would buy this truck in a heartbeat! Too bad the only option I'll ever have it to build one.

As for the 6L80E, I hope someone figures out how to retrofit one before I kill my 4L60E. Me likey the gear ratios on that one. With that first gear you could run 3.08s and have a taller overall first gear ratio than a 60E with 4.10s and have great milage in OD.
