Default my trannys stuck in 1st gear???

2000 gmc rcsb. i blew my 4l60e, so its been sitting in the shop for a while till i get enought money to fix it. so i start the truck every week to keep it running. well a few weeks ago i started it and i was gonna see if i had any gears at all. well it got stuck in 1st gear. i wiggled it and did everything i could think of and i couldnt get it out. so i had to leave the key on and let the battery die cause you cant turn the key all the way off with it in gear. well i fugired it needs to be started. well i took the battery out and charged it and now i need to get it out of gear so i can start it. do yall have any ideas how i can get out of gear?

Jack up the back wheels or do whatever you need to do to make sure it can't roll. Then remove the bolts from the circuit board on the side of the transmission where the shift cable connects it and move it so the computer thinks it is in park.

It doesn't sound like a safe idea to start it while in gear, but this is how you could do it at your own risk.
