Man thats totally uncool talking about the guys truck. Doesnt matter what you think, its still his truck and needs help fixing it up.

I d do looks first. You ll be happier with the truck if it looks nice. Performance can wait.

I d put a set of rallys on it. There not too expensive and look good. Do the 2wheel drive trucks have torsion bars? If so, you can level the truck up without buying anything. Remove the bug deflector. Get some chrome for around the wheel wells. DONT put the chrome down the rocker panels, causes the truck to rust out in that area. Buy the rubber molding to go down the side of the truck, JC whitney has it, like $60.

Seriously start by heading to a junkyard and snagging rims/bumpers/grille/headlights off of a later model C1500. It will drastically update and clean up the look of the truck on the cheap.

thats an 88' with 250,000 miles on it, he paid $700 for the truck, $400 for the lowering kit, $2000 for the paint job labor paint and everything, and about $250 for the wheels and i think he said he had about $300 into doing that front clip so you do the math

Thanks for the support guys and well to the few that had nothing good to say, I have nothing to say to you. Anyways I already have a new grille/headlights etc coming and Ive been looking on ebay for some good rally wheels for cheap. The best thing about buying a truck like what Ive got is listening to the select few bash it then show again to them a few months down the road and watching there jaw drop saying is that the same truck?!?Thanks everyone for the encoraging input.

It's a pretty cool feeling when people comment on your truck and how it looks.

Post a picture or two when you get the front end done and the wheels on, I'd like to see it.

Till then, enjoy and have fun.

i would do little things first. unless you have about 1-2 grand for some wheels. wash it. tinit it. kill the bug gaurd and mud flaps, take the gmc badges off. the wash it again. it will look a lot better.
