If you take that 6.2L diesel out of the truck I would like to buy it I have a 1982 1/2 ton chevy truck with a 6.2L in it would like more parts. I am also looking for a 1995-2000 Blazer/Yucon 2 door with the 6.5L turbo diesel in it thay are rare and I want one if you know of one give me a ring.

I know the feeling (young, little or no money, and big ideas).

I don't know what everyone else thinks, but a diesel street truck that's a sleeper seems pretty cool, and unique. If you want to do a swap and do something crazy, I vote for an LS7, but an LS1 sounds fine to me.

Looks like you have an idea of what you want to do. I think the potential is there, just take your time and be patient.

I say keep the Diesel and mod it. Check out the dieselplace 6.2 section @

http://dieselplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=20

or Kennedy diesel @

http://www.kennedydiesel.com/

The M/T wheels would look pretty cool. I wouldn't raise the front, I'd lower the rear. A lowered diesel in a half ton chassis would be cool as ****. Something different anyway, and ya got it already! Good luck!!

Only the Mickey Thompson 15x8 or 17x9 will fit my bolt pattern so what tires would be a good combo with those? Since you guys gave the idea of moding the diesel how much would it cost or would it even be possible to get it up to or equal the power of an LS1? Also the lift kit I just want to level the truck somewhat, get the front level with the back so Im not exactly sure what I need for a lift probably a 2-4 Inch anyone know anygood lift kit companies and how much it would cost for a front end lift, I gave fabtech a quick look but still dont have any clue on prices. I dont want to lower it because I still want to do some off roading.

One last question for now, Im looking at buying the grille/ lights for the dual composit setup cause it just looks so much better anyway Im curiouse if the headlight wiring harness is the same for the single head lights as for the dual composites? Also are the headlight mounts the same?

As far as lift kits go for 2wd trucks, Fabtech is probably the best. Don't know any prices though. Can't think of anyone else that does 2wd lifts at the moment.

And for the front end, it can be done; check this one out... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/381368/6

IMO save your money and buy a newer truck after you drive that one for a while. If you have the money to mod that, then you have the money to pick-up something newer and with more potential. You can get RCSB's for less than $10k, I bet you spent $1500 on that truck? You could have used that as a down payment on a 99-02 rcsb with a 4.8 or even a 5.3.
