I'd personally stick with the stock airbox, and get you an AirAid MIT and a true flow drop in filter. You can mod the stock airbox to flow better. My setup only ran me about $130 compared to 250+ for a cold air intake and IMO does the same thing.
Muffler swap and a good tune and it should be running decent.

Nice ride, congrats! As mentioned above, you can modify your stock airbox for less than half the price of an aftermarket CAI if funds are an issue. I have the Volant w/ ram air system myself and I'm very happy with it. Prior to the Volant I had a K&N FIPK for 5 years that worked just as good.

i say the same as l33z71. i cut a large hole on the headlight side of the stock box. and just curious is your an 03 or an 04? cause i always wondered if the rcsb z71 came with the 5.3HO or just a 5.3 or 4.8.

Thanks for the all the tips everyone. I think im going to go with an AirAid MIT and replacement filter, and mod the air box. What all is envoled doing an electric fan swap, Ive heard that you can retro fit from an 04 and up? is this correct? And is the TB bypass worth any power?
Nick993- It's an 03 with the 5.3, I've never heard of the 5.3 H.O.
Thanks again

I would say no on the TB bypass if you live in a very cold climate.
Nice truck,

I would say no on the TB Bypass also because of the cold climate. I almost listed it originally, but then looked back at the pics.

The 5.3HO for what its worth, was only originally available in the ECSB Z71 Configurations. I think they started that in 2005. Now I think they are throwing the Alum block 5.3 in the CCSB Z71's but not calling it an HO anymore.
