Post My little 6.0 project

Well heres where I start, picked up the motor from 127th ave and lower buckeye for $400 bux, hauled that bad boy home to scottsdale and 202 smackin frame the whole time all well its home.

The good: have pretty much everything oil pan to intake and all in between. Seems pretty dandy, no seepage around the pan or heads or valve covers or anything. Pretty clean. Maybe too good to be true?.....

The bad: tried to turn the motor by the crank bolt... no go. Started going and little bit and a little help from dad we got it to turn just so much by the flex plate. So its not all bad right. Pulled all the plugs on pass. side and they look ok. Pulled the ones on the driver side and uh-oh in cylinder 1. Looks kinda like some white mold like slop. Coolant!

The ugly: pulled the driver side head and cylinder one and 3 are kinda bad, 1 more than 3 but its completely salvageable I believe.

So dad's thinkin maybe hose it down with some good ol' WD40, break some of the B.S. down, I hand cleaned most of the coolant and all from #1 cylinder but its not pretty, needs a good hard scrub which it will receive on sunday.

Opinions on the WD40? Ill get some pics of the aftermath on sunday.
O by the by, its an LQ4, dished pistons, cant find a stamp number on the head, but when I pulled it it had one on the underside.. I wanna say it was like 872?? Dont quote me Ill be sure on sunday. And found some numbers "S04" on the block by the dipstick and F240 on top left side in front of the head? whats it mean? Let me hear the ideas and opinions

I would use plane oil, unless your going to rering it, which I would do.. Dunno about the numbers but that looks to be an Iron head motor, which, I dunno if you know has the longer crankshafts...

is that a good or a bad thing? I plan on maybe different pistons.. Im definitely gonna need heads, Ill show pics, but I dont wanna keep a completely iron motor. the block is iron and thats too much IMO.

y ONLY an 80e?
heads are on the list along with a cam. right now just need to get it cleaned up and hope theres no other damage. it looks like they caught it early enough, head gasket was still pretty sealed and its only in 1 and 3 cylinder plus it was a very small couple bubbles in the gasket which I believe is the culprit.
