you guys make me look like someones gramma!

I only pull those #s when I try.

I actually raced (beat) a hemi past 100mph 3 or 4 times on the 750 mile trip

BUT, beating on it around town still stays above 13.

maybe boost would change that?

NO.......won't........go.........to.........dark.. .........side...

That's the only truly accurate way to measure mileage. I had a car with an instant mileage, average mileage, etc. display and it was close, but never 100% accurate.

Each time I read/hear claims of 22+mpg, I wonder where these pickups were when I had one. The newest gas engined truck for me though, was a 99 model. Of course, my driving style would all but surely prevent the good mileage.

I recently drove to Boise and back. It's about 500 miles round trip. On the way there I got 14.5 MPG driving 80 MPH into a headwind. On the way back, I got 15.7 driving 80 MPH with a tailwind.

With the 4.10 gears, the motor is turning approximately 2,500 RPM at 80 MPH.

I was hoping the 17 MPG on the window sticker was at 75 to 80 MPH, but that has not happened for me yet.

I am sure I could get 17 if I were going 60 to 65 MPH, but on long trips, the extra fuel is worth the time saved.

With the onboard fuel computer, I have seen the truck get up to 20 MPG at speeds of 45 to 50 MPH under ideal (flat, no wind) conditions.

By the way, my truck is completely stock except for some GM accessories - no performance mods - not even a K&N air cleaner yet.

back on the 28th of december 2004, we bought our tahoe with 49,995 miles on it, on the 30th, myself, my wife and son started our trip from Gadsden Alabama to Grand Forks North Dakota, 1400 and some odd miles. we were towing my wife's car which had to be on a full length trailer due to the fact her BMW is all wheel drive. the trailer was from u-haul, it weighed just over 2000 pounds, the car is around 3200 or more. since it was christmas, we had the bmw full of gifts, even the drivers seat was full when it was on the trailer. the tahoe was so full that the front seats, and two of the middle seats were the only ones usable. during the whole trip, i tried to stay around 80, and even got a finger pointed at me a couple of times by troopers, since i was doing all the driving, i tried to get as much done in a day as possible. every 200 miles we would stop for gas, every 200 miles the gas gauge was on 1/4 of a tank. it usually took 19 to 20 gallons to fill the tahoe up. we did this 7 times, so i figure that the tahoe towing well over 5000 pounds at 80 mph got around 10 miles to the gallon. some people i work with didn't believe me until i showed them the receipts. every now and then we go from GF to Fargo, its around 100 miles one way, cruise on 75, the Hoe gets around 16 to 17 miles per gallon. no mods were done at the time of our big trip, and the gas was 87 octane.

I took two trips to Dallas i'd say about 7 months ago. Each trip was 4 days apart.
I forget the total round trip mileage but i do know how many miles i went on a tank each time.First time i got 509miles before filling up.Had about 2 gallons left in the tank.
I drove 76miles of this in the city.I also drive like a ***** when you wanna consider the proper way to drive for gas mileage while in the city.I also cruise between 80-95mph this trip.
Second time out i did a little better.I went 533 miles had bout 2 gallons left again.
I drove 67.9 miles in the city.Decent amount of full throttle from the lights etc etc.
On the interstate i cruised around 80-95 again.Only this time i came back with my buddy in his new car...we did prob about 7 differant punches from 60-75 up to around 100 each time.He just short shifted not to break 5000rpms as he didn't want to overrev with less than 100miles on the car...of course with myself naggin him by loppin he had to run lol.
I also raced 5 other cars one was from 70-125 before we let out.
O yea i ran the air both times entire time except for while racing.
Same mods in my sig with stock wheels/tires and stock 3.42 gears.
