My Fuel Mileage after 1100 mile trip
#11
I average 17.25 mpg on highway going 75 mph. in my 4x4 Tahoe.
3.73 gears, 5400 lbs. plus 4 adults. I travel to Michigan 4~5 times a yr, all Hwy. and I always check my mileage. I think I would see 18 mpg if I could slow down 5~10 mph but I'm happy with current results and mods in sig..

this past sunday, i left my house with 150miles on the trip.. went to Hattiesburg, Raced about 8 times??, drove home and still got 18.5mpg. we were rollin home also, it was dark
. and ran my truck for the first time on the 1/4. and got a 14.92.
but after hurricane katrina i got 24mpg twice, and then there for a while i was gettin 22mpg, now its down to bout 19mpg. Ive been running it harder than usual since i got the E-Fans and its shown a 1.5-2mpg increase.
So yea 20+mpg is not hard for these trucks if driven right. and yes it depends on the gears.. im fixin to see what goin from 3.42s to 4.10s do to mileage.. i drive 80% town also.

It's about 2mpg less than the 5.3 got, but last time I took this trip I had the 17's on instead of the 20's.
BTW, someone around here claimed to get 24.5 mpg in a 4x4 Tahoe.....that's B.S! There is no way a 4x4 Tahoe is going to get 24.5 mpg, I don't care if GOD tunes it and it's run in a wind tunnel. That just ain't gonna happen.
