Default Muffler Change

Hey guys! Looming to change my black widow muffler out! Sound is to quiet and idle for me and doesnt sound all that good on top end. So ive been looking and can find a super good muffler. Was looking at magnaflowd but so many different options.

End goal is loud. But not straight pipe loud. A good loud. Lol

This is a million dollar question.

Without cats, it's going to be loud no matter what you put on it. I would recommend going to youtube and spend countless hours watching videos.

Spintech mufflers can be loud, sound great at idle. Magnaflows are the same way. It just depends on what you want.

Me? I prefer to be on the quieter side of things. More so just because if it's too loud, I get a hate text from the wifey before I get out of the driveway about how my truck is to f**cking loud and I woke the kids up, blah blah blah.

But, quiet with a good off idle rumble is what I want. I have neighbors that I have to be social with and all that jazz.

Flowmasters get plenty loud, more so without cats. Magnaflows without cats are plenty loud.

I have stock manifolds/Y pipe/cat to a spintech muffler and 3" tail pipe dumping after the rear axle and its perfect for me. Loud enough to hear but not obnoxious IMO

6.2 muffler on a 5.3, longtubes and no cats

Too f'ing loud.

Moroso makes the "Spiral Flow" series, and those sound pretty nice IMO. Plan to couple one of those with my 6.2 muff.

When I get to wifi I can update this thread with a video

what i have is in my sig..lontubes, y pipe, no cats, and a flowmaster 40. loud as hell. im actually trying to go a lot quieter, which will be nice cuz its what i want but the new muffler will flow a lot better since flowmasters only flow like 340cfm.

I went with a Borla xr-1. From what ive seen and heard it flows really good and also sounds good. Still thinking if i should dump before my axle with a turn down or have it dump straigh out after the axle with no tip showing..? But alot of people had cams in there trucks and still sounded good as hell. If only my truck wasnt old it would be cammed......

I have mine dump after the axle without tip showing and it does not drone. When i had it dump ~2' after the muffler, it was louder and droned like hell.

Do a Flowemaster Super 44 dumped before the axle. That's what I had before and I loved the sound man, incab wasn't bad at all but boy did it come to life when you stepped on it

I've had a lot of different exhaust setups. Honestly, I really like my affordable dynomax muffler in comparison to the other straight through designs. Of course my setup is way different than yours, but I can tell you it has a nice deep rumble at idle (not too loud), but screams at WOT
