Well, me and my buddy have been working on getting the fan motor swapped out. (My fan motor went bad due to the POS fuse holder that they had a recall on) There is no possible way to seperate the fan blade from the fan motor. I called FAL (Flex-a-lite) and told them my problem. First they said to take out the little screw on the side of the metal thing on the fan blade. Already did that. Next, they said to spray any kind of penetrating oil onto where the blade meets the motor shaft thing, he said,"after that it should come off pretty easy."
I told the guy that there is no way that this thing is coming off. Then he said to try and hold it and use a center punch on it. Got off the phone, tried everything possible. If we were to pull any harder it would've broke the fan blade. I called back asking to talk to somebody over the company. Talked to a woman that was in charge of something. Told her about how the motor blew due to their faulty fuse holder and how it took them almost 2 months to get me the motor and all of the problems I've had with the product. Then, I told her that I would appreciate it if they would send me a new fan blade that I could put on the new motor, so I wouldn't mess anything up. She said okay, she transferred me over to one of the technical/parts guys and he said that I should have a new one sometime tommorrow.
Then we had problems with the bracket for the new motor. The hex nuts started stripping. We used the right size and everything. So then we got a drill and just drilled through the screws, knocked 'em right out.
Now were fixing to go to the Godsmack concert tonight!

Been there, done that.... not godsmack, the burned up fans.
I also had hell getting the blade seperated from the motor. I was able to use a couple of flat head screwdrivers to wedge in behind the blade. It didn't come right off, but it moved a bit ad gave the penetrating lube a better chance to work. Then worked at pushing the blade on more, then prying it off. Took an hour to get it off.
Here is a shot of the melted and burned wires. Funny thing is that the other fan was still running while this one was all melted.

Mine didn't look that bad, just the terminals burned up a little bit. I've been running one fan since Feb.! It's gonna be weird to have both of them running again!
Oh yeah, I got my UPS overnight package at 9:30 this morning. They went ahead and sent me 2 fan blades.

Well, I installed the motor, bracket, and new fan blade. Then hooked everything back up. Everything works fine now.
Both of the fans pull a whole lot of air. Too bad I only had one fan during the summer, my fault though

It was an acoustic concert and lasted over 2 hours.
