Thumbs down Monster Garage, El Camino...

I think I've seen enough of this Monster Garage stuff. I want it off the air.

It's one thing to wreck common/average cars... but last night I was flicking through the channels and saw them tearing up a very clean looking 71-72 El Camino. My blood was boiling.

It's disgusting. It's the exact opposite of what welders/fabricators should be doing. It's like vegetarians going out and slaughtering cows. If I was on the show, I would have flat out just walked off the set when they rolled that car in.

I'm off to go put a complaint in, and raise some hell on their message board.

i agree the first couple shows were good and funny, the garbage truck explorer, lawnmower mustang, firetruck limo, and then maybe the vw amphibious (sp) car. the rest of them are just bad ideas that definatly should have been left at drawing board. jesse james is a bad *** though, he has some talent when it comes to fabrication and shiot

I tired of it too. I gave up on MG awhile back and started watching Foose on Overhauling. So far its been pretty good.

I watch only a select few channel on TV now-a-days when I do watch it. Usually just a few mindless programs (I have Direct TV and like 50 movie channels, so I have them on a lot and peep a few programs from the local Fox and WB) and the acutal fact channels (Fox News, History, Disc, etc.)

lol

MG has gotten really GAY. Did you guys know Jesse James sold west coast choppers? I like watching rides sometimes but just stick to TRUCKS and HPTV which both are badass.

It makes me sick when Hollywood destroys classic cars in their movies. Remember Next Karate Kid? They destroyed a bad *** 71 Cutlass 442 W30!!! And in Milk Money, they destroyed another Cutlass, a 70-72 convertible!!! I've seen a few episodes of M.G. and wasn't impressed; I like Trucks, Horsepower, and American Choppers.

I'm the EXACT SAME WAY!

My blood BOILS when I see classic cars getting wrecked in movies. I hate "Gone in 60 seconds", "Christine", that Stalone movie where he builds the Mustang in jail... the Karate Kids...

Even "Tommy Boy" sucks a fat one. Why couldn't they use a disposable car?

What a complete disgrace to wreck the only nice car in all of that rice boy movie there... what was it... Fast and Furious. I didn't see any of those other **** boxes wheelie.

My favorite shows are Rides(?) with the 90210 dude... The Boyd Coddington one... and any of the horsepower/truck/classic car shows on Speed or Spike.

None of that MTV or Funkmaster Flex crap.

Another AWESOME ONE, maybe my favorite of all, is "Victory by Design" on Speed. I only see it on late at night. It's the show where they take a revolutionary model line of cars, and do a documentary on it's heritage (usually racing hertage) through the years. They usually have a number of prestine examples of cars through the years.

There is no BS, no yelling, no bling-bling. It's some mundane English guy talking about the cars while the camera operate circles around the car just about non stop, showing you a view of the particular car from all angles. When he's done talking about a particular car and looking under the "bonnet" and what not, they take it out and SPANK it on closed off roads in what looks like England.

No dumb music, no cheesy effects, no fast-changing shots of the cars like some Britney Spears video... just a microphone in the car picking up the beautiful exhaust notes, and camera views from a chase car, lead car, or onboard camera. They give you 1-2 minutes of no-interruption listening/viewing of the cars in action. It's AWESOME. They couldn't possibly make this show any better.

The ones I've seen have been on Ferrari's and Porches from the 50's through early 70's. I'm all "Mr. die-hard-american-V8", but the way they present those cars gives me a whole lot of respect for them.
