i was wondering what everyone did to afford their mods? so i guess i will start it off by telling a little about myself:

I started a pretty good job in January. I graduate from Delta State Saturday, so hopefully when I go on full time I will have alot more money to throw into my truck. I'm also currently throwing around the idea of selling one of my damn kidneys to get the 6.0 and supercharger. Hell, you only need one, right? When you start designing cars, you can help us all out and build us a performance gm truck from the factory. That would be awesome!

My first priority was paying off my truck. I can't really buy expensive mod for my truck right now since I am building a house and getting married in July. This is where a good amount of my money is going. I am doing all this on a crappy TX teacher salary of 37k plus other sources of income Uncle Sam does not need to know about.
When I feel like it, I will also work part time for the Departmanet of Animal Control (DAC) scraping dead animals from the road.

Unhappy Let me tell you a sob story

Well I am 27 and I work as a design drafter for one of the largest companies that supply production equipment to the oil companies. I have a little less than 2 1/2 yrs to pay off my truck and that payment takes a big chunk of my income. Really don't have much money for mods right now. I am married and have a 21 mth old daughter so that also makes money tight. My wife works and her money goes to paying the house payment and my money goes to paying everything else. My wife is in the process of finding another job so hopefully that will help free up some money. Once that happens, my truck will start to get modded a little more.

well when i was buying mods for my truck i was in the navy and was a second class so the pay was pretty good for what i did. when faced with the decision to transfer and sell my house and all that crap, i decided to get out. i went to work for my uncle installing wood floors under the lowes contract. had a baby born 2 months ago that has down syndrome and decided to do better for him and enrolled in nursing school. i start in two weeks. well, gotta do the basics first but oh well. so right now, i collect unemployment which sucks in mississippi, the wife works (and does good, thank goodness) and i am using my montgomery GI bill and navy college fund to pay for school. but once i get done and get a job maybe some more mods will be done. if our trucks are still popular then. if not, i'll get a new one and work on it. lol

well I used to get my modding $$ from my b-days and working for my dad's comapny every now and then. Although today I got hired at UPS. I'm going to either start saving for my 02 ws6 or slap a supercharger on the truck until then.
