Question MOBIL 1 Synthetic

What's up guys? Not an LS1 question, but a buddy @ work owns a 1996 Chevy S10, 2.2ltr., 5-speed and was wondering if using Mobil 1 synthetic oil would give him a problem whereas he has been using non-synthetic oil all along??? He has noticed less oil burn since using a syntec blend by Castrol, "supposedly" a 50/50 blend of synthetic and regular oil. Thanks in advance!!!

Question Mobil 1

Thanks for the replies guys!!! The truck has 138,500 miles on it, runs great and does not blow smoke and gets 28 miles per gallon. So, do you think there will be a problem if I switch to the full synthetic oil instead of the 50/50 mix stated in my first post? Thanks in advance!!!!!

Switching to synthetic lube is perfectly acceptable at any mileage, regardless of oil previously used. The myth of not using syn in a engine that had used dino oil is an old wives tale.

I finally found myself some Mobil 1 0W40 today! Just in time too, now if my damn driveway will dry out.

I bought my truck used a year ago and it ran standard oil before. I have only used Mobil 1 in it. Will not use Royal Purple or AmsOil. Read RP has ingredients that cause wear. Know an AmsOil supporter that has had at LEAST 4 engines sieze on him, but he still loves it. To me, Mobil 1 is tops.
