Default Mini S and Rx8

Was talking cars to a guy today that had a Mini S. He was convinced the little go cart could do mid 12s in the 1/4. I told him he was'nt even close. He did not believe me. I asked him to take me for a ride. Needless to say I was not impressed. When we got back, his friend was there with an Rx8. Same thing from this guy about his car. Greatest thing since sliced bread according to thus guy. So, I ask him to give me a ride. Same result, no big deal. I then take each one of these guys for a ride one at a time. They were both almost speechless after one good wot launch. This was much better than racing them, because you get to see their reactions and hear what they are saying. I also informed them that I am no where near 12 second in the 1/4 and could still hand them their asses. Another day another ricer lesson.

I dunno abou tthe Cooper, but I know the RX8 is slow. I ran one and embarrased the guy before I put the blower on. That would be back when I was still running 14's. I would absolute kill him on the line, so bad he may as well not even try.

I kinda like the Mini's though. I would like to have one for my fiance. You can get a nice one with the performance packages and nice options for 25-27k. She likes them too. The only thing is she would have to learn how to drive a standard. THe one I want gets 27/32 for mileage I think.

They were both kinda fun little cars. Would own either one to putt around in. However, I would not boast about how fast they were.

I've noticed most people don't realize how fast or how much it takes to run 12's or better for that matter. I had one guy tell me his stock vette would run 10's. If I would have had my truck there ... I would have told him let's line them up. He said it had a 6 speed, so it might have been a z06, but even then, low low 13's should be good for him.

I told him I saw a vette running 13.7 with paper plates still on it, and he thought I was full of ****.
