Default Might buy a 06 Silverado

I've been looking at buying a 05-06 Chevy/GMC 1500 CC. I found an 06 Silverado at a local Chyrsler dealer. It has 37k miles, Black/Gray cloth interior, 5.3L, auto, power windows/locks, cd stereo, 20in stock wheels, soft bed cover and liner, center console, and tow package. The paint is good. It does have a lot of stratches on the whole truck, only noticable from up close. The interior is in good shape. The engine, tranny, rear end are real clean. It will need new tires soon as well. They are only asking 13,988 as is. It sounds like a good deal to me. I wish the paint was in better shape. Are there any things I need to look for on these trucks. Thanks.

06 is the best year

sounds like a good wash/claybar/wax will bring it back to life! Take it for a test drive??

No test drive, yet...the dealership said they were short on sells people. I waited about 10 mins and then me and my wife left. We didn't want to wait around and make it seem like we were really interested. So far, it is the cheapest truck with that low milage that I have found. I am going again Wednesday morning, so hopefully I can drive it.

id say take it for a spin and see how it drives and handles! You can also check the glove box (look for the codes on a sticker) for what gears it has!

GQ1 -- AXLE REAR, STD RATIO
GT4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.73 RATIO
GT5 -- AXLE REAR, 4.10 RATIO
GU4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO
GU5 -- AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO
GU6 -- AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO

ok...thanks. Hopefully the dealership isn't too busy on Wed. morning. I'm going to offer them 11,500 out the door and see where it goes from there.
