Default Metal in the oil pan?

Is this too much metal to find in the oil pan?

It is part of the oil dipstick tube that broke off when I installed the headers. It has been riding around in my oil pan for about 10 months and surprisingly enough, it appears no harm has been done.

That happens quite often actually. I haven't heard of anyone actually sucking that piece into the moving parts though.
