Mechanic/Performance School??
#1
I heard there were schools that focused only in automotive technology...particularly performance. Found this website for several schools that included automobile, marine, and motorcycle training called the Universal Technical Institure (UTI)...I was just wondering if they were any good in training for performance and stuff like that. I think it would be cool to take a couple of months off and train for a while in this place, check it out. I also found out there was one in Houston...Any comments on whether it's any good...check it out....http://www.uticorp.com/go/schools/

I grauduated out of UTI about six years ago. No regrets here, but they do tend to hype their schools a bit more than they should. You'll get as much out of it as you put inti it. There are a lot of morons that think they know it all and end up confusing you. There are several other schools that also have good and maybe better reputations. Make some phone calls and see which best suits your interests, finances, and schedule.

I'm currently going attending the Houston location. I agree with silent1, you get what you put in. Also there are a whole lota dushe bags going there. A bunch immature punks fresh out of highschool. Its pricy but well worth it as long as your trying to learn and actually make a career for yourself.

I applied to UTI here in mass cause they are currently building a new campus 20 min away which is sweet. Im going next year after I graduate from high school this may. I am really looking foward to it, my friends and I are complete motor heads and we are all going together. Hopefully I am making the right decision.

I recently graduated from UTI in Houston back in November. I learned alot while I was there. Like many have said, you get out of it what you put in to it. Keep your grades and your attendence up, and many oppertunities will open for you. I just moved to Orlando for the graduate program BMW STEP. This is a 27 week long school paid for by BMW that covers everything you need to know bumper to bumper to start working in a dealership. I reccommend UTI.

Right now I'm a student at Wyotech, at the Laramie Wyoming campus. They also have a compus in California and another in Pennsylvania. Awesome school in my opinion, a little more expensive then uti, but I've got two of my friends who are enrolled in UTI in Arizona and they arent liking it too much, the only reason they decided to go there is because one has family there, so they live with them. They are looking right now at dropping out and coming up here to Wyotech.
