Default Mazda RX-8

For Christmas I saw one of my cousin's bought a 2005 mazda rx-8. That is a nice looking little car for sure. he was bragging on how fast it was so I went ride with him. It was ok. Some kind of rotary motor with a six speed. Not as fast as he made it out to be. He wanted to bet me some cash that he could beat my truck. So when we got back I told him as soon as we were done with the presents I was gonna show him what TORQUE feels like. We ended up not going b/c of the freezing rain had the road too slippery. I will give him a call when NPR opens and show him some american muscle.

He didn't know what it runs in the 1/4, but he told me he called a performance shop and told them the weight and HP and they said it would run somewhere in the 13's at 107mph on the strip. I just had too laugh. I told him not to get his hopes up. Anyone know how fast are these little cars? I think I could definately beat it.

I found some 0-60 stats: 5.9 seconds and also 6.4 seconds. The latter was reported by Motor Trend.

I think with the specs in your sig. (12.81 @ 103.59) you should take him, no problem.

I dont think hes going to have much for you. It will probably be pretty ugly. According to Car and Driver they run 14.9 @ 95. Maybe you should start the conversation by asking how many lengths he wants

Good question. I'm interested as well. Didn't the Rx7 have the rotory engine as well?

Yes, any Mazda with an RX designation had/has a rotary engine.
