Not a problem, they tend to be $$$ so shop around for your needs.

A mild stall will help a lot too and would be not too costly...

If I got a stall would it take off normally when I am babying it?Also how much do stalls usually lower 1/4mile times? What is the best stall to go with?Yank,B&M?Also around how much are they? Thanks again

That depends on the stall you choose. Something mild like a 2400-2600 will pretty much act the same as stock until you mash the gas. Stay around an 11-12" diameter, 2.2-2.5 STR 2400-3000rpm stall. Even that 11" 3000 stall you'd get used to within a day, it's not off the wall high or too low. That rpm seems to be a fav around here.

Well Yanks customer service blows, so getting a converter direct is going to be a challange BUT worth the wait. I'd contact a sponsor over on the left for ordering one. Their GM products are great. B&M converters are okay, I won't use one but lots do. I really like the PI converters but you give up towing capacity and such with them.

Remember your 4L60E should be a 30 spline input shaft unit not a 33 like the newer Gen III motor ones. Pricing is going to be ~$650 for a higher stall like 2800-3000 or about $300-450 for a 2400-2600. I'd say an easy .2-.5 off times depending on traction.

Have you driven a vehicle with a mild stall?

Never have driven one with a stall.I have traction problems now as it is.I have 3.90gears with an Eaton posi and if I launch to hard all hell breaks lose.I also need to get some cal-tracs.I think I would go for a 2600stall.Do they make a 2400?If so will that make any difference.I would love to be in the high 14's.

You're going to have to learn to feather the throttle some, you'll have it figured out quickly. Before you say only 2600, drive/find a few lower and higher ones to see what you think. 2600 will leave you wanting more I promise that. There's a few peeps on here that can cut 2.0-2.2 60' times with a 2800rpm stall on street tires...you'll have to understand how to flash the converter from the hole before going WOT is all.

A 2600 rpm stall alone won't get you into the 14s, but with stall and those long tubes I'd say you'll get very close. Now a mild cam would get you there with a stall and long tubes easily.

A 2400 is just a restalled stocker typically.

Well I did 1 more run this morning.I have not ever stalled it before but this time I stalled it to 1300rpm and pulled a 2.29 60ft which is the best ever, ran the 1/8mile in 9.78 at 73MPH and it ran the 1/4 in 15.38 at 89MPH.Stalling it helped quite a bit.I did not think stalling it would help like it did.I guess I am Finally learning how to launch a little better.
