You would be even better off the the LS2 cam for your 5.3. make sure its a 3 bolt LS2 cam though. The valve events are better tailored to a smaller engine and make more low end TQ.

Also As an FYI they posted the wrong chart for the LS6 cam... so you can't trust what theyre posting about it in that regard.

Great link Vortech, thank you I learned something else. Was this a specific cam, then for the L33? And in the end wouldn't a Comp Cams 259 be better in a heavy truck..............

Wouldn't you also need the LS2 timing cover, cam sensor, and then you have to extend the wiring.

I don't think so... pretty sure you just need the correct 3 bolt cam, and the 2x 3 bolt cam gear and it would work fine. They made 24x reluctor LS2's at first so it shouldnt be a problem. 2006 for instance for the TBSS is different than 2007+

The LS3 cam and 2 are a mix between both the ls6 cams that were made. I do not see the reason in going and changing the front cover, yada yada yada, when he could get the ls6 cam and make the same power, not do anything but swap cams. The power is not going to be any different.. It's a waste of time and money just to say '' I have a ls3 cam''

Yea I agree with you... thats why I said go for the 3 bolt LS2 and use the 2x cam gear that you have stock. Same changes that would be done to put in the LS6 cam, but it would have more usable power in that 5.3 than the LS6 cam does.

The 3 bolt LS2 cams can be had for next to nothing. Look on a vette forum.
