Thumbs up LS2 VS LS6 Crate Engines

I just finished the LS2 install and found LS6 longblocks for sale from TS for cheap. So with that being said, my question is which of the two is the better performer?? I would like to hear all thoughts on this issue/debate. Eventhough its too late to change, just wondering if I made the best choice. Please give diferences in all aspects.....(i.e. iron/aluminum blocks, heads, intakes.....)

If you don't want to post in the thread, will ya'll at least vote in the poll.....??? I'm very currious to see which one would come out on top. Pretend that you're going to buy one of them. Which one will you buy......??????

Thanks guys!!!!

James

I prefer the LS6. It is superior to the LS2 in terms of a lighter valvetrain, bigger cam, and a much better intake manifold. The only advantage the LS2 has is the 18 more cubic inches. Now, remember we are talking stock versus stock. Once you start changing, heads, cams, etc. that all goes out the window. But stock for stock I take the LS6.

Yes, glad you brought that up!!!! This poll is stock vs stock.

Note: I have the LS6 intake on my LS2.....LOL!! It came off my old set-up.

doesn't the LS6 use LS1 style rods?

The LS2 came with the beafier rods, 243 heads, more aggressive cam . . . .
LS6 just has the lighter valve train, and less displacement but the smaller cam

Id take the LS2, they have the same cam specs(depending on year), and the CR in the LS2 is higher along with the same heads. Lighter valvetrain doesnt come into play until you start spinning it on up higher but at that time youre swapping cams and springs anyway and it quickly becomes a mute point.

James Im still going to crack that *** with my ecsb

I'd always take the larger cubed engine, they're both small. Take the LS2 and stroke it to something above 400 cubes to make it halfway serious.

Crack that *** with 12psi of boost.........Even if you do, I can still go home and sleep good at night because we both know that it took a FI to get the job done. I can't wait..........I'm not helping you get your truck up and running anymore....LOL!!!! JK!! Lets start a poll thread.........
