What reading material is out there that will help me develope a better knowledge of these LS1-based motors. My knowledge of these motors is very slim and I would like to gain more so that I will have a better understanding on how they work. I am also looking for something will help out in the rebuilding process so that I, myself, can install some internal mods (cam, rockers, springs) or even bolt-on mods (headers, t-stat). I have gained some understanding by reading some of the threads posted here but I still don't have a full understanding. I remember someone posting a link that had a book about LS1/LS6 motors but could not find it.

It's called LS1/LS6 Performance by Chris Ednress. Ask your local book store to order it or search it on Amazon.com or something.
