Default lowering spindle question

I read before that they make the turning radius worse. Is there one brand that is better or worse than the others? Also I don't know if there is a difference between the 2wd and 4wd spindles but I would need one for a 4wd if they are not the same.

Stick with either Belltech or McGaughys, and because you're 4wd, you have to use the 17"+ wheel versions. Between the two, belltech has better angles and less bumpsteer.

There is no difference between 2wd and 4wd spindles, but the 16" McGaughys spindles that are popular with lowered guys are 2wd only. Half of the drop comes from busting the rivets on the 2wd balljoint and placing a spacer in the control arm that relocates the BJ on top of the arm. It wouldnt work on torsion bar suspension since the balljoints are pressed in.

Long story short - go with belltech 2508

I hated my BTs. The bumpsteer was atrocious with them. I switched to 17in McG's and I love them.

Though, I did lose a little turning radius but I'm ok with that.

Typically it's the other way around since the tie rod has better angles on the belltech. Do you have drop arms as well or just spindles?

I'm running BT springs as well.

I ran McGaughys on my 06 Sierra single cab long bed truck, to me I didn't really lose much turning radius at all. Parking lots and overall driving stayed the same in my eyes. They drove great with stock springs and MCG drop shocks.

1 for Belltech
2 for McGaughy

Turning radius aside I'd rather have which ever one rides and handles better. I'm ecsb and the turning radius already sucks.

Honestly just flip a coin and go with which ever is cheaper at the time. Both are good and both will ride fine. Best is 16" McG but you can't use those unless you have coil spring suspension. Just stay away from eBay spindles and you're good to go

I had McG 16" on my 5.5/8 truck with the steering radius mod and it was fine. I bought belltechs for my new truck because I got them used for a great price

McG's work great on my 06 CC 2wd...I did lose some turning radius but after grinding the tabs off of the control arms I got most of it back...at least enough to make it easier to park in the tiny *** parking garage where I work.
