how far can you go or how much gas do is left when the light first comes on? i dunno how i made it to the gas station last night because i didn't think that needle could dip any further.

 

I think my manual says that it comes on at 2.5 gallons. Pretty sure that is what I read. I have gone just over 20 miles with not running out after it came on.

 

when i worked for a gm distributing company we had to drive the cars from the lot to dealers.i have went over 25 miles after the light has come on and still ran the car hard never ran out of gas. later

 

It came on on the way home from work and the Range indicated the tank had 30 miles left on it. The other time I let it slip too far, it said 30 mi left also. I usually have a blonde moment and it reminds me and I go to the first gas station I see(depending if its Exxon or Mobil, Cause I will never go to thoes again, #1 importers of oil, and pricey)

 

30 miles from just the light coming on? Man ive pushed mine all the way a few times. Ive coasted into the station on fumes.. but I never go by miles. I can tell where on the gague there is no more gas.. for me its just a little under the last red line. Im sure its more than 30 miles for me cause when my light comes on I still have atleast 50 miles.

 

When mine comes on it usually takes 21-21.5 gallons to fill up. I have 427 miles on this tank and it's not on yet.

 

So you still have about 5 gallons left in the tank when the light goes on

 

Is that what 26 - 21 works out too? Yeah, I guess you're right.

 

Man, I miss that kind of gas mileage.
