Default Loud thump when accelerating

tonite i hammered on my truck at about a 30 roll and it jumped down and when it did ir sounded like my trans mount came loose and the trans hit the floor of the cab only this sound came from farther back. anyone ever experienced a noise similar to this? may have been exhaust hitting somewhere, normally it breaks loose but tonite it hooked and i thought i had torn something up.

Not trying to be a smart a$$ but did you have anything under the seat or in the bed that could roll around? I had a lost mag light that scared the S out of me everytime I would hit it it would go against the back bulk head and make a terrible sound.

thought about that but the only thing i could see that would make any noise was my sub box but it fits so snug under the seat you have to lift the seat to move it. i looked under the truck and cant see anywhere that it has hit but i have only had this happen twice and it was months ago that it happened last.

i would check the trans mount just in case, takes 2 seconds, just throw the jack under the trans and jack up slow and look to see if the mount separates. dont jack up too high or anything.

Bad motor mount. To check and make sure you can open your hood, put it in drive, hold the breaks, and when you get it stalled up with TQ against it the motor will jump over, letting the trans possibly hit the tunel. You should be able to see the motor through the gap in the hood.

Mine does this too. Feels like something is sliding from the front of the cab and hitting the tail gate. OF COURSE, the dealership couldnt get it to do this. Told me to drive it on and see if it got worse. And theres nothing in the bed rolling around either. He told me it could be the driveshaft, they are "redesigning" one and to wait and see if it comes out anytime soon. Yeah right, just like the redesigned steering shaft I guess.

Why would it be a motor mount? If it was the tranny wouldnt jump unless the tranny mount was broken.

The trany moves with the motor. If the driver side moves up 2-2.5", the trany goes up with it, and there isnt that much room in the trans tunel. My Blazer has a broken motor mount right now and the only reason it doesnt hit the trany tunel is I have a 2" BL.

i would say check the trans mount, I had a car that i broke that mount 3 times and each time it broke it would sound like someone smacking my console from underneath with a hammer.

yep, check the motor and tranny mounts, easy way to check the tranny mount is to use a pry bar against the tranny and the crossmember

i get a thump ever once in a while but its my locker in the rear. its like it gets hung up or something and kinda clanks free.

i had marble in my heater duct once and i thought something was coming loose in my front end. evertime i hit the brakes you could feel a rattle in the floor board on the passenger side. found out the kids had marble in the back seat and the rolled under the seat and into the heater duct lol. this is after i looked like ten times under the truck for something loose.
