I would never be embarrased to say I spent 85,000.

Don't whine about what you can do for less. You sound like a bunch of ricers.

It's impressive in the accomplishment ( any true street truck in the 10's is ). Makes Parish look all the better for what he achieved on considerably less cash.
Just goes to show ya what money can buy if you are willing to spend it. I personally like DIY but if I had the backroll who knows?

It is impressive, but 85,000 for a pickup truck a little steep. For me to spend that kind of money on a truck I would have to have a hudge garage full of exotic imports and muscle cars before I would fork out that kind of cash for a truck. Yes, it might be a twin turbo V10 truck but its still a truck. For me cash is a issue so I would be a little prouder to say I bought a house or several acres of land for that kind of cash.

I wouldn't be embarrased to say that either, if it were for a sports car or maybe a house. So, let me get this straight, the guys that think its not justified to spend that much money just to get a certain "performance" truck into the 10s sound like ricers? That term is being thrown around WAY too much these days.

Thank You!!! I have heard this argument since i can remember. Its the same argument when comparing the new cobras to corvettes. The cobra is cheaper and cheaper to mod. I would still choose a corvette for the complete package and name that you get from the factory. The dodge truck is expensive but it is very rare and is a package from the factory. I realize that chevy's can be made fast but a fast silverado is not going to get the attention like the dodge srt does. When i used to have my 97 z28, i dropped alot of money into it to make it faster but when i beat corvettes or more expensive fbodies, i never rubbed it in their face that mine was cheaper. I could have spent half as much on a worn out 5.0, put a cam, headers and gears with 150 shot and beat my z28 but thats not what i wanted.

Now, Im not sticking up for the price tag of the truck or that of the hennessy kit. I believe that the dodge srt truck is over priced but not as much as most on here feel it is. I have also heard for several years that hennessy's practices are very questionable. I havent looked at the kit, but 45,000 for a turbo, i imagine engine parts are also upgraded, is very expensive but that could be done for much less. However, if someone has the cash for it and decides to buy it, then it doesnt bother me at all. A twin-turbo'd viper engine truck with the hennessy name on it would be a rare and impressive sight. I do realize that i could, for half of the cost of the truck, make one just as fast, but its all up to personal preference.

This could be applied to most on here who put thousands of dollars into these trucks(not bashing, my brother is modding his 03 SSS) and most of them(not all of them) when completed, will not beat a stock fbody or newer mustang. However, the idea of a fast and unique truck is appealing to some(me included) while many others see it as completely a waste of time. It would be easier to go get a variety of used or some new cars and mod them and make them faster for much cheaper, or even get a used lightning which runs 13s from the factory with a warranty, they are getting pretty cheap now. This would be a cheaper alternative to modding a silverado....I believe that i have gotten my message across. Im not a chevy hater either, 3 out of my 4 cars have been chevys(2 trucks and z28)

I looked on the Hennessy website, the $45K price includes a completely worked over motor that has been bored out and stuffed with all forged parts.
Again, not trying to justify the price. Just saying if the wallet fits, spend it. It for sure will not be out of mine tho. Hell, I can't even get my Hemi turbo yet from STS.

No. Rice chat is what you said here.

Bet I could do it with my truck cheaper.
This is complaining like that a ricer would do. How do you think there trio got started? Going fast for less. This statement goes on forever. Almost as bad as the cubic inch argument.

Some people are always jumping on the bandwagon. This isn't your discussion, so why contribute to this? It's already gotten alittle too far out of hand as it is.

EDIT: I'm done with this. Speaking one's opinion obviously does no good here. Someone is always going to have something to say. If you want to continue this, p.m me. If anybody needs me, I'll be outside trying to chase down my short in my underbody lights and my neon muffler.
