I messed around and finally gave in on the LS1 Bringing home an 02 2500 HD. I haven't had a full size in a while so I'm pretty excited about it. I haven't done a search on pro's/con's so if you guys/gals can provide any I would appreciate it. My friend loves his 02 2500 HD so thats the only person I can base my opinions off of right now. 6.0, 8.1, or D-Max? 2wd or 4wd?, Regular cab, eExt Cab, or Crew Cab, 6.5 or 8 foot bed?, What axle ratio? If you have a 8.1 or D-Max, did you get an Allison or 6 speed manual? See, you left a few things out.

I have an 8.1 and there are a few pros and cons, biggest con being fuel economy.

 

Sorry bout that, I forgot how many engine/tranny combos you can get in these big bodies...I got the 6.0 under that bulging hood (which I really like). Truck is an extended cab, short bed. Is there a site that list option codes so I can see what axle I got back there.

 

You have 4.10's. All 2500HD with 6.0 get it.

Thanks for the replies! It's an interesting feeling stepping up into the truck after riding around in the camaro. I drove the camaro around last night and when I got home, I had to move the truck so I could park the camaro in the garage and I literally felt like I had to jump in. Was great

 

Before long, Bobby will have the heads pulled off and ported, as well as a nitrous kit. LOL. Try and find Brooke's old vids of his 2500 HD Crewcab running 13s at HRP and cracking Mustang GTs. Funny stuff.
