Unless you need the extra room, keep the Lightning. Gas mileage won't be any better, tires are...well tires.....I vote keep the Lighting. I think you'd regret it.

get the SS, you will love it. its a great ride, and turns heads everywhere you go. the extended cab and AWD never fails to come in handy. i used to ride in my buddies lightning all the time, and i absolutely loved it....its damn fast even bone stock, but we both agreed the SS is a much nicer vehicle. if you have some extra $$ aside or even some time to save of that $$ and mod as you go, you can easily make the SS as fast or faster than a stock or lightly modded lightning with less than 3-4 grand and still have a great looking truck, a heck of alot more room, and AWD for the just in case times.

of course i just reread that it has the 100,000 mile warranty on it. if your concerned with the warranty and not going fast, its still a nice truck, and will at least whip on up the hemis out there good luck either way, they are both awesome trucks.

He has a magnacharger, FLP longtubes, yank TT3000, transgo, and billet servos. His mileage is decent, I think about 13 around town and 18 on the freeway.

$24000 seems a little high doesn't it. my brother bought his 03 ss brand new, i think it had 150 miles on it. he gave about 27 or 28000 for it. i might be mistaken but that seems a little high. i know when i was working at a chevy dealership i was looking into buying one myself and in louisiana the dealerships couldn't get rid of em. oh yeah, they are very nice trucks. thats just my opinion
