MikeGyver your truck weighs 746.268 pounds per liter of engine displacement, w/. u in it. When it was stock displacement, it weighed 833.33 lb/liter.

Aye, this isn't Canada. Err, is it Ehh, this isn't Canada.

Some definite firsts there. Not everyone has a DVD player. Even fewer have the .44 Mag mod. If you're being held back by somethin, is it too much gas? If yes, take .44 & blast a few holes in the gas tank to lighten it.

Ben, relax, Scott was just bored. No worries my friend. So, please answer, are u the lightest? Lightest I know of.
I think if it is, that's awesome & u need not apologize to anyone.

Youre never going to find a definitive answer Scott, this **** has been talked about for years on here. There are 12 million pages of info on here and not a single post can you certify as the gospel because variations in the trucks and/or scale calibration. Hell my unit weight scales I use at work that only go up to 40#s after a year of use can be 2 pounds out of calibration and these are 1000$ scales, now think about a scale that weighs vehicles. In the end make the power you need to to get down the track in the time you want.

For once I agree with John, this thread sucks.

My point of this thread was basically deciphering the differences in scales that people use, or how people find out their vehicle weight.

Are these "CAT certified" scales certified for a certain weight range? If the scales are calibrated to be used on 30,000lb+ trucks, are they really that accurate at lower weights such as small trucks and cars?

And to Silver-mod-o, this thread was not specifically about you, although you were one of the trucks that I had in mind when thinking about it. I however think your weight numbers are more believable than some of the people claiming their SSS's weigh 5800lbs+ or some of the 4wd guys weights.

I just really don't see a RCSB 4wd weighing more than my truck. They have the transfer case and front axle stuff, but I also have 2 extra doors, an extra cab, an extra seat, and a longer frame.

To AKlowriderZ71, do you really think some of the things you posted that you added to your truck affect weight that much? I mean really? Do you keep any CDs in your truck as well?

Thanks for the clarification. Just tired of being questioned about the trucks weight and nowadays that's the last thing on my mind with it. I've got other projects.

The majority of things on the list don't weigh that much by themselves, but all added up together, makes a difference. I never really even thought about it until I found out how much the pig weighs. Then I had to ask myself why my truck weighs so much more than others'. So that list was just some things that crossed my mind. Anyways, I'm sure that if I set my mind to it & got creative with removing stuff from my truck, I could shed several hundred pounds easily. Bells & whistles, insulation/soundproofing, support brackets & skid-plates add up pretty quickly. But since my truck is really just a daily driver with tow duties, I'm not going to do it.

When we modify/build up our snowmachines here, every ounce counts. Lighter seat, lighter handlebars, un-painted tunnels & bumpers, drilling windows out of the track, titanium chassis parts in place of aluminum, etc. It's not always about the weight difference of one part, but many parts collectively.
