Isn't liking Pantera a prerequiset to live in Texas?
Cool, we're finally talking about something that I know something about!
I play bass in my band (been playing for about 13 years) and we're currently working on some new original material for our CD. I dig all the bands listed above except not so much Marylin Manson. Not my bag-O-tea.
My favorite band of all time is 311. I also really get into Mudvayne. Then there are the times when I get my fix on some 60's soul then some funk. Then I get all twisted around again and pop in some Slayer and then some hardcore punk. Honestly, I like just about everything except country. I can't stand that crap! Most rap isn't far behind either.

Many of Manson's songs are weird, I'll give you that. He (it) has some really hard-core ones I like for instance: Rock is Dead, Beautiful People, Disposable Teens, mOBSCENE, and a few others. Those make me want to break stuff.
Heyhey, no being mean to country music or rap. There are some good artists in those areas also. Lone Star, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Tracy Byrd, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, and the lovely Shania Twain.
Now rap is and can be crappy but Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz are really funny. "Get Low" is great. David Banner, Dr.Dre, Snoop Dogg, SPM, Tupac, Eminem, Puff Daddy, and Nelly too. I just don't care for that hard-core rap.
Hell I also listen to classical, disco, 80's, some techno, alternative, pretty much anything as long as it has a good beat to it. I have some where north of 250 CD's, about 100 LPs, and countless cassettes. I love music...hell I still have a working Panasonic 4 channel 8 Track player too!

I shouldn't take the extreme on country and rap. I do like some rap but not the hardcore stuff. As for country I can totally respect the older stuff, it's the newer stuff I can't stand. It's cool that other people like it but it's just not me.
Back on topic though, I agree, the end of One kicks some *** still today. At our last show we did a cover of Welcome Home (Sanitarium) and One put together. After the solo in Sanitarium we broke into the first few bars of One then went straight to the heavy part at the end then after that back into Sanitarium. The crowd seemed to like it.
