i tow a 19' four winns which is an 85 model and it is a BOAT. catches alot of wind cause the bow is up almost as high as the truck and i tow it at 75 without a problem and from a stoplight it feels just as strong or stronger than my 93 silvy with basically the same mods minus the 20's.

I towed an inclosed trailer on my 5.3 ECSB when it was bone stock across country and had no problems, It had 6 7500watt generators, 3compressors, 3 3500watt generators, and 3 sump pumps) Total was probably close to 6000lbs plus i had 2 7500watt gens, 1 compressor, 1 3500watt gen, and the sump pump in the bed of the truck. Two people me and the copilot, and full truck inside with all our belongings!!!!! And had alost no problems at all I was crusing around 60-75 mph on the 265/75/16's!! No tow haul, and i did keep it in 3rd but this was through mile high and all that!!!

I pulled a friends Trans AM (3500 pounds) to the track last weekend. Averaged 15 MPH and had no problems pulling the car.

This trailer is not heavy, and it only had two 4-wheelers on it....I was not happy when I finally made it to where I was going. Anyone have any ideas on why my truck is so gutless? It just feels like right around 1700rpm's it de-tunes itself, not just yesterday, but all the time. Would a tune help fix this? I'm seriously thinking about trading this truck for an old body-style Ram, at least I know they pull like whipped mules. I usually pull this trailer with a 98 Ram 4x4 with the 5.9 and 3.55 gears. I know its apples to oranges, but that Dodge would run off and leave my truck with the trailer hooked up. Decisions, decisions.

Maybe you have some partially clogged cats or some restricted injectors.I dont think I have ever heard anyone put down the 5.3 like that.I am almost offended.

I ran some seafoam through my truck a couple months ago, and it seemed like the truck ran a little better right after I did that. Is there any way to tell if the cats are plugged? I had a tech at the dealership ride around with me not long ago with the truck hooked up to the monitor, and he said everything looked fine. I just get some hesitation around 1400-1700 rpms where the truck seems like its bogging down.
