Default Just a quick track question...

I am taking my truck out to the track tonight and I had a quick question. I have an 02 Z71 and I was wondering how many guys launch in 4 wheel drive? Do you leave it in the whole time? I was afraid I would some power up top if I leave it in. From what I know about how the actuator works I am scared to shift it out at full throttle. I just wanted to get a few opinions for tonight. A guy in town has a crewcab SRT-10 and he wants to race me. I know the only chance I have is to get the whole shot and hope he runs out of track. I know I could beat him in the 1/8 mile but since the track is 1/4 I am not sure. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

this gets asked alot, here is a thread that should have your answer
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...ght=launch+4wd

Crew cab srt10's can run mid 13's in good weather.
is your truck ecsb or rcsb?
ecsb it will be close
rcsb i think you can pull ahead

have you run the truck at the track with this setup before?

Thanks for the help man. I am a rcsb, so I am hoping I can. I know he ran a 13.9 @ about 107 last time, but they say this track runs a .5 sec slow because of traction. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again.

I think the srt10 will go down, a rcsb with a tr220 and a stall should be mid to low 13's possible high 12's with the right conditions

There should be a 4wd launch sticky

So who won the race?

It sucked man...I was very disappointed. My best time was 15.01 @ 90 in 2wd hi. I did not seem to have any traction problems. The SRT-10 ran a 14.1 I believe. I have the slips at home if anybody wants additional info to maybe figure out the problem. I also logged the runs to send DC Justin.

Wow, is this the truck in your sig? If so, that time seems way off...hopefully Justin will see something in the logs that will indicate a possible problem...

yeah it is. I thought the truck felt a lot stronger than that when I rode in it a few weeks ago.
