Used to work at Home Depot as a loader.

80lb bags of concrete and 96lb bags of cement. Good Times.

We used to have contests to see who could load the most bags of cement at one time.......

Agreed. It also shows drive, determination and following through with your goals. Not only to the employer, but to yourself as well.

Unless you are comfortable making mediocre wages (you WILL eventually hit a ceiling that you cannot get through without a degree in ANY company - including McDonalds) or are brilliant and have resources to back you on your own company (see Dell, MS, Apple, etc.) a degree is a must have. Does it matter what it is in or if it pertains to your desired field? Nope. You hardly ever meet a Psych major that goes into psychology - they all end up being security gaurds in my building for some reason

The people that make millions without a college education are very few and far between. So unless you are a rock star or a damn good pro-boxer, get your education. It will pay off.

Well you start out at $8.50 an hr. but today I found out I'm already getting promoted. So now I'm making $9.50 an hr and after 6 months of working there you get a .50 raise and then once th year is out they give you another $1.00 raise. So by next year I'll be making at least $11.00 an hr. Not bad for a part time job with benifits (full dental, college tuition reimbursement, etc...and the best yet, I don't have to pay for the benifits).

I make about $22 an hour being a union plumber, but have to pay dues, working assesment, and other b.s. It actually comes down to about $18 an hour before taxes. The benefits we get aren't that great. Also, being laid-off, like I'm currently, I still have to pay dues and lose my insurance because of the lack of work hours. That sucks!!! I'm currently looking to get another job that has better benefits and closer to home.

On average I will be working about 20-25hrs a week since its part-time. Heres a pic of my truck but this is before the lowering shackles. I'll get you some better pics (updated pics) tomorrow since its pouring down rain right now.
