i recently bought a 01 youkon xl with the 5.3l vortech. i poped the hood the other day and noticed my little plastic vortech cover on top the the engine was crooked/loose so i took it off so it wouldnt go into the belts or something. when i did i notiched a plastic valve looking thing was broken and had been siliconed to the intake manifold. when i started it, i could tell it was some kind of a vacume thing. i have a 00 TA with a ls1 and never saw anything like this on it, and im wonder what the hell does it do. and why is it there? i reattached it with some silicone for now so i can drive it, but i need to replace it. any help out there?? pics 2morrow
