Default issue with rpms

well my truck is tuned to have a rev limiter at 6500, i just noticed starting a few days ago that if im sitting parked and go to rev high it seems to act like its hitting the rev limiter aroudn 5700-5800, also crunk it two days ago at a buddies house , truck was cold, i let is idle for about a minute then backed up , put it in drive and stomped it and it started spinning like normal but then started hitting the rev limiter around the same rpms, but it was in drive, it should have shifted to 2nd.

would this be a issue with my tune or what could be causing this? it just randomly started out of the blue. havent changed anything on the truck

i thought u could only revs these things up to around that rpm or maybe 6000 in park. Somethin to do with the computer. Im pretty sure my truck does the same. But as for the rev limit spinning, this is bc u are spinning and the rpms are actually higher than reading. If u ever notice, if u are spinning through first or second, when u finally do hook your rpms will jump down to normal.

yea makes sense, i guess i just never payed attention to it before. my main concern was the hitting the rev limit when in drive. so far ive only noticed it do it the one time but ive also been babying it since cause i dont wanna cause more probs if there is a problem
