Interior Lights Dimming?
#1
Recently took my 04 truck in for service because the tach would just drop to 0 and temp gauge would start to drop going down the highway. They said the cluster was bad, and they had to replace it. Got the truck back, but something doesn't seem right. I was wondering if when you turn on the park/headlamps aren't the odometer reading and radio station,ac display panel supposed to dim down a little even with the dimmer switch all the way up? I could swear when the lights would kick on, I could see the those lights dim a little bit. And the new odometer readings just doesnt seem that bright. I wanted to ask before I took it back to the dealer. If someone could look at their's and let me know if I'm just imagining things or not.

yes the cluster will "dim" when you flip the lights on
try this at night - with the truck off, and the p-brake on, start your truck and observe the odometer luminisity and then manually flip your p-lights on.

Agree it could get confusing. Need to change my user name anyway, because had an 01 with a 5.3 and traded in for 04 with a 6.0.
Thanks for the reply. I tried doing that during the day and at night and the odometer stays the same. I thought something might be amiss.
