Interesting opening day at the track
#1
Well finally had nice wheather for the track, first for me this year. took my 20's off in the back and threw the stock steel rims and generals on. ran my usual 14.5@93 with a 2.19 60 ft. I just got MT ET streets-28x11.50 16 but ther're not mounted yet. I think they'll really help when I get the stall installed.
1) saw a Merauder, stock with drag radials run two passes 14.7@97. The drag radials were so short I think they changed his rear end gear from the stock 3.55 to 4??.
2) saw a New Dodge Neon RT with Nitto drag radials run a consistent 14.15 with real bad hop up front, not bad for a 4 banger.
3) nothing else there other than the usual 10 sec trailer cars.-no hemis no lightnings, and just one other ls1 Trans Am.
4) last but not least my second to last run of the day I was against some 10 sec nova with a full fiberglass front end, well right after the 1000 foot the freaking whole front section of the car blew off and it was like slow motion. I slammed on the brakes and watched as the hunk of fiberglass plumetted down from about 50ft up landing directly in my lane. I served around it and stopped. If my truck wasn't so slow and I was in the 12's or 13's the son o bitch would of landed on my truck!!
You got to love the poorly built white trash mobiles that always seem to close down the track one way or another.
