Well as a few of you have seen on the fastest truck list there has been some BS flags and some non believers about Randys Graberts truck and times. Im going to start off by reminding people that I was the one who posted Randys times first, not him. I saw the runs myself. 1- 12.59 and 1- 12.64. Trust me I dont have a reason in the world to lie about his times or not believe him about his mods. Ive asked all his friends who he works with and races with regularly and the story is the same. CAM ONLY 5.3 I ran my best time that same night also. It was an awesome night; great weather, great track, great times. Look at My times compared to Randys. 12.83 @104 and 12.59 at 104.79. Do you think that I would make up that .2 seconds if I had a 1.64 60 ft time?? I sure as hell think i could. Hes making most of his times in the first 1/8th mile. Randy and all his friends know how to make these truck fast as hell no doubt. I belive back in 2000 Randys best friend Sammy vidross put the first 5.3 into the 12s with stock manifolds. I bet you people dont beleive that either. That truck is what made me buy mine. This group of guys down here all go fast b/c they live these motors day in and day out. Its all about the right combination. We try something and see if it works, if it doesnt we try again. Tuning Is also EVERYTHING. Not to be rude, but a mail order tune is nowhere near as good as getting your truck strapped to a dyno and letting a guy like Goeff at Thunder Racing tune every HP out of a truck. Some people arent close to a speed shop so a mail order is the only way to go. Down here we have 2 great shops (Thunder Racing and Futral Motorsports) to do the tuning for us. Anyway anyone who can be at No Problem Raceway Feb.11th can see me, Randy and a couple other 12 second trucks run.

 

What other mods do you have on your truck?

 

On my truck I have every bolt on, plus cam springs pushrods and rod bolts inside the motor.

 

It's not toooo unbelievable. I trapped 97mph with a cam only ext.cab 4x4 with a raceweight of 4900lbs... KNock off 800lbs or so and that should give me about 5-7mph no?

I could see how people are skeptical but you have a VERY low raceweight compared to most trucks and you have great power according to the dyno so it seems possible to me. Just RARE!

Think of it this way. Most LS1 F-bodies have a 3700lb+ raceweight (3550lb car + 150lb driver). A cam only auto F-body would trap around 112mph or so on avg.... You're only 400lbs heavier than them.

 

i am going to try and make it on the 11th but as of now it isn't looking good. NPR is just a great track and is always fun to go there for thunder shootout.
