if i wanted to add the steering wheel controls and dic to an 06 gmc and could swap them from an 06 chevy what would need to be swapped?... from what i can tell, it seems most people swith a clock harness?.. the steering wheel and the cluster, is that right?... if so my question is could i just switch the whole column and cluster, would'nt it all plug in the same or is the dash harness actually different?... also would it have to be programmed?.
i thought i read somewhere before that all that was needed was the wheel?.
i've done some searches and it seems a little confusing to me so i apoligize that i'm asking a repeititive question but i'm not sure whats involved.
thanks.

i'm just guessing here, but do you think it has anything to do with the trim level the truck came with?... like an LT or SLE would have it pre-programmed and ready, where as a w/t or LS/SL would'nt?...

I have a 04. I did have to change the clock spring harness also. On mine there was no where to plug the steering wheel control harness into without a new clock spring. The radio controls still did not work even though I had a escalade cluster. All of the mileage type of info worked just the radio portion didnt. I have a budy that is a tech at GM. He had to call into some kind of GM tech line to get a BCM flash if Im not mistaken to get it to work.
