Unhappy i think my heater core went out

last week my heater started getting cooler and cooler then saturday after i raced a couple cars (srt-4 and cobalt ss) it took a and went cold! im sure the race had nothing to do with it but if i turn the heater on it blows semi warm for about 10 sec. then goes cold. thr coolant is a good level and im running at the right temp.

before last week i could hear water moving around in my heater core but now it doesnt anymore.

any info would be greatly appretiated

THANK YALL!

Sounds like it is plugged up!! With the truck at operating temp grab onto both heater hoses if there is a hugh temp difference its plugged. Also if you turn the blower down to low speed do you get a little warmer air? Another trick we use to verify if its plugged is too turn the heater onto the vent mode. Then let the truck idle and if you rev the truck to 2000rpm or so do you get heat?

Hope this helps
John

Take the hoses off and blow through it with compressed air. It will start working again.

One word of caution be gentle with the quick couplers on the heater core. If I was you, take off the other ends on the motor. Just use a garden hose hooked to one of the hoses and the other onto the ground.

Yeah unhook the hoses and try a garden hose through each side. Might flush it out.
