a clip broke that holds the rods to open my tail gate.
it is a little plastic peace with an eye and a catch to hold on to the rod.

any idea what the part number is ??????????

We sell those at oreillys, they come in a package on the Help! isle. It will be in a red/blue package with all the doorhandles and stuff.

The GM Part# is 88981030 for the passenger side clip and 88981031 for the drivers side clip. The passenger side clip is green and the drivers is red.

 

I thought one was black?

 

You guys are amazing. I needed one for a door latch (same basic part) and our parts guy told me I would have to get the whole latch. I went back to the body shop and got one off an old wrecked door for free...

One of the clips used to be a black clip...but in recent months GM has changed suppliers and now they are Red and Green for some odd reason.
