Default I just scored big time :)

I just got my hands on a LS1 bottom end complete with block, rotating assy, Lifters, covers, oil pan, cam, and EVERYTHING for $150 from a guy I know off LS1 Tech... The only damage is a scratch in one of the cylinders that can be honed easily...

How big can you bore a stock LS1 without re-sleeving? I was thinking about taking it .030 out and putting pistons in it and calling it good. I plan on running my whole top end. intake, heads, acessories... everything... just the aluminum block and LS1 bottom end.

What all will have to be done to make the swap??? I needed to pull it apart to get at the converter and change the flexplate anyway... why not put a new motor in it while I'm at it

LS1 Swap guys, help me out here...

yeah .010 is it. I know it sucks but sleeves cost some $$ that's why alot of them are going to the ls2 block.

Most go 3.905 because the pistons are readily available. You could stroke it to 382 ci I believe.

Yup, move on.

Btw, '98-'99 you can only do a light hone whereas '00+ you can bore I believe .01". Appearently the earlier blocks had thinner sleeves than the later ones.
