So my dad came to town to watch the game today and I was riding with him and he goes "oh by the way check this out" when he honked the horn his escort 8500 went off and read "Laser". WTF I bought it for him this summer from a pt.net member and he uses the cord for his 08 Avalanche because I havent had time to hard wire it for him since he got the new truck. Is this a common issue? Is it something electrical in his truck? I told him to test it in mom's car tomorrow so we'll see if it's his truck or not. I might need to remind him since we did some good tailgating since that conversation

sounds like you have the right idea by testing it in the other vehicle, I've never heard of that happening but of course it is quite possible.

 

Actually it's common on these. My 8500 does it in my silvy.

Yea i had that happen when i was like 16 driving through some neighborhood honking my horn like a maniac at about 11 one night. That scared the hell outta me. Always kinda wondered about that.
